While the Huntington Park Police Department enjoyed Halloween 2002 and 2003 with Steve's studio props and Haunted House fascade, "The Haunt" @ Knott's Scary Farm employed Steve's talents to scare over 1000 guests per hour in the 11 mazes and rides plus several shows in Buena Park. Steve was nicknamed "The Spider Doctor" in 2002 for spending two weeks hairing, painting and positioning the over 2000 spiders in the 2002 new maze, "Curse of the Spider", including the giant spider that dropped down on cornered, screaming guests. "Curse of the Spider" was voted best new maze of 2002 at "The Haunt".
